It has been my pleasure to have visited with several of you about drawing closer to God and walking in a deeper relationship with Christ. The first step in drawing closer to God is to hear what he has to say to us. Now, that doesn’t mean a divine visitation like God appearing to Moses or Jesus appearing to the Apostle Paul on the road to Damascus.
God visits us today through His Word. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.” John 1:1-2
“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3
Let’s pray together –
Father, knowing that you desire to speak to us and reveal your truths is a bit more than we can grab hold of at times. We think about our own lives and how we fall short of “the mark” so many times. We could not continue without your loving-kindess and forgiveness. Thank you for the sacrifice your Son has made so that we can draw near to you and experience your unfailing love.
We look to Your Word for encouragement, truth, wisdom, guidance, comfort, even motivation. Thank you that you are with us in the “small” things and the larger things in life that we face on a daily basis. Thank you for your promise never to leave us nor forsake us. We pray for _______________ and ask for you to work mightily through your Holy Spirit. “
