Out of the thousands of high school athletes across the country, you were chosen. You were identified as someone with not just talent, but grit, potential, and the drive to be part of something bigger than yourself.

Now that you’re here, the real work begins.

That spark of excitement you’re feeling right now? Feed it. Let it become fuel. Let it shape into commitment, discipline, and a fierce determination to compete with excellence — every practice, every rep, every race.

There will be challenges. There will be days your body is tired and your mind is tested. That’s when you remember why you’re here — and who’s beside you. You’re part of a team now. A team that runs together, trains together, pushes each other, and lifts each other up. Your commitment is not just to your own goals — it’s to the people wearing the same Shocker colors.

The Bible reminds us in Colossians 3:23:
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.”

That verse is a challenge — to give your best, not just when it’s easy, but especially when it’s hard. To carry yourself with purpose, effort, and heart. That mindset will shape you not just as an athlete, but as a person.
