Tell Everyone About…

I don’t think that there was a person on the team that wasn’t excited when they heard that we were stopping at Buc-ee’s on our way back from our meet at TCU.

However, there were a few who had never been to this Texas-based chain of super-sized convenience stores and gas stations known for its massive size, exceptionally clean restrooms, and a wide variety of snacks, food, and unique merchandise, including branded apparel and the famous Beaver Nuggets. The stores are often described as “Disney World for convenience stores” due to their lively atmosphere and extensive offerings.

But, it is almost guaranteed that, if you’ve been to a Buc-ee’s, that you are going to be quick to tell others about the experience. It is absolutely amazing! You are excitedly motivated to tell others.

And, so it was with John the Baptist when he realized that Jesus was the Son of God. He cries out to everyone as he points to Jesus and says, “Look! The Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”

That one sentence changes everything.

John’s testimony wasn’t complicated. He didn’t try to impress with theology. He simply saw Jesus for who He is—the Savior—and told others. From there, we watch a chain reaction: Andrew hears John, follows Jesus, then goes and finds his brother Simon (Peter) and says, “We have found the Messiah.”

Then Philip meets Jesus and runs to Nathanael. His words? “Come and see.”

This is how the gospel spreads: one person excited about Christ telling another because they can’t keep it in. Knowing Jesus personally—truly seeing Him as the Lamb of God—fills us with a joy that naturally overflows.

If you’ve met Christ, really met Him, you don’t need a script to share Him. You need eyes open to the people around you—friends, family, coworkers—who need what you’ve found. Like Andrew. Like Philip. You don’t have to argue or debate. Just say, “Come and see.”

And here’s the challenge: Are we living in a way that shows we’ve seen Him? That we’ve found the One our souls were made for? The early disciples didn’t keep their discovery private. Neither should we.

If Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away sin, how can we not pass that on? Tell Everyone About Jesus!

Lord, make us bold and joyful like Andrew and Philip. Let the beauty of knowing You spill over to those around us. Let us never lose our wonder. Amen.
