Let God Do This!

What an awesome spirit was found in the athletes to whom I spoke last week at the FCA meeting. What a great group. Hey! Take the opportunity to join them each Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Champions Club at the Roundhouse.

So, as I closed the message, a sensitivity to the Holy Spirit was evident. In Henry Blackaby’s book, Experiencing God, he speaks of looking for where God is working and joining Him there. Our programs and plans are not necessarily of God’s leading.

In Zechariah we read, “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord.” It is easy to rely on OUR strength, OUR ideas, OUR programs. God reminds us that true victory and success do not come from human effort alone. We must depend not on our might or power but on God’s Spirit.

About two years ago, I thought about suggesting that we start a prayer meeting. But, hesitation came from the fact that your schedules are so packed with academics, your sports and a myriad of meetings. Plus, I did not want such a meeting to come out of human effort or thought.

At the FCA meeting, I shared a vision for getting together for prayer. That resonated with several of you. So, Let’s Let God Do This!

We are going to meet on Mondays at 4:30 p.m. The purpose of our meeting will be to seek His Face together, to pray for revival on campus and the community, and to pray for one another in our walk with Jesus. Our meeting will be designed to take 20 to 30 minutes.

We have yet to find a place of meeting. But, text me at 316-214-4655 and I will let you know. God Bless!

Prayer: Father, it is our desire to follow your leading and not get ahead of you and what you have for us. I pray that you would bring those who are seeking your face and desirous of coming closer to you. Amen
