What are jumpers saying when they begin clapping their hands above their head while on the runway preparing to jump? Are they saying, “I could use a little help here?”
Encouragement can bring an infusion of energy and confidence to an athlete. Our spirits need to be refueled from time to time. And there is no better source of energy, apart from that of the Holy Spirit, than a boost from friends who care.
“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.“
Ephesians 6:18 NIV
This verse comes after Paul has laid out instruction with regard to dealing with the enemy, the evil one, by putting on the whole armor of God. He wants to underscore the need we have to pray for one another in the spiritual battles that we face.
Let’s pray. “Father, help us to be faithful in praying for others. Help us to find ways of encouraging others. May we trust in you and your Holy Spirit to uplift and strengthen our brothers and sisters in Christ.”
Praying for you!
Larry
