That word, “practice”, can be seen as incongruent with a training mindset toward championship goals. Yes, you can practice technique for your event but when you are Training, it is NOT practice. It’s the Making of Champions. It comes back to Being the Best you can Be.
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17
There are three focus points in the Making of Champions.
1) Begin with the end in mind. Right now, you ought to be focusing on Birmingham, AL. That is where all sectors, lanes and runways are leading to the AAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. When you step onto the track, into the ring, warming up for your approach, see yourself in the Birmingham Crossplex getting ready to compete for a Championship.
2) Grab this moment. This is the day that will make you better. This is the hour that will test your resolve. This is the workout for the making of a champion.
3) Reach deep within. You are not going to find your best until you reach for it in devotion, discipline and determination. The making of a Champion does not come from routines. The making of a Champion comes from living every minute of your training focused on being the best that you can be.
Life is not practice. You live it! Live each day, with every thought and action, in a way that trusts in Him who has created you and gifted you. And, live each day in a way that brings honor and glory to Him. If you do everything in the Name of the Lord Jesus, you are committing to a powerful standard of excellence.
Philippians 2:9-11 “Therefore God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, that at the mention of the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, of those in heaven, those on earth and those under the earth and that every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the Glory of God the Father.”
Let’s pray: “Father, we want to live our lives in a way that demonstrates a love for you in our lives and a commitment to your Son, Jesus, in a way that lifts up the Name of Jesus. Our desire is not to practice taking on the Name of Jesus but to Live the Name of Jesus. May others see our unyielding focus that is fixed upon you and our desire to do all in the Name of the Lord Jesus.” Amen
Keep Seeking after Him!
