In a relationship

“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8).

“God is Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24).

“In a Relationship” is part of a profile commonly used on social media.  Why?  “Well, Duh, Larry.”  Evidently that person feels it necessary and important to let others know that they are not available. And, to let others know that they have found a very special person.  Perhaps, they want to affirm that person in the relationship.

That’s social media. What about your Spiritual media? Are you In a Relationship? It is God’s desire for us to draw near to Him and enter into a relationship with Him. If we desire for God to draw near to us, we need to draw near to Him. It is much like our social relationships. If we commit to a relationship with someone but never talk to them, What is That?!!

If we want to draw near to God and build a relationship with Him, a most crucial step is to quiet ourselves before God and pray to Him with a concentrated and sincere heart. It is key to speak to Him from the heart and tell Him about our needs, our desire to praise Him and to seek His will. Only in this way can we gain the guidance and leadership of the Holy Spirit.

Let me pray with you.  Father God, thank you that your eyes run throughout the earth in search of those whose hearts are fully committed to You. (2 Chron. 16:9)  We desire a true and meaningful relationship with you.  Thank you for sending your Son, Jesus, so that a relationship could be made complete and available through faith in Him.  You are so good to forgive us our sins and bring us into a right relationship with You, through Jesus’ sacrifice.  We want to let the world know that through Your grace, mercy and love, we are In a Relationship with You.  We desire to draw near to You.
